If you can imagine little boys (and girls too) running around with their hot wheels, eyes wide in admiration and joy, then you can imagine what the third annual “GOC Car and Go Fast Boat Show” was like. The only difference was grown men and women were doing the running around as they scoped out all the beautiful life-sized hot rods and muscle cars. Muscle mania was in full effect.
The show definitely raced for success and won in its goal to gain awareness and raise as much money as possible for the Geriatric Oncology Consortium (GOC) this year. The GOC was able to show a total of 46 cars and 13 speed boats. In addition to hot rods and classics, the event also showcased new Lamborghinis and Ferraris that gleamed in the sun and in people’s eyes. Of course, the event couldn’t go without a little Tiki Touch, so live music floated through the air and the Grill Sergeant’s special barbeque floated through the crowds for all guests to enjoy.
Several contests were held at the event this year including but not limited to Best in Show, Best Interior, Best Engine, Best Classic Car, and Best Modern Car. The winners revved their engines in joy. The day sped by, but the finish was a roaring success for the GOC!
